For us, sustainability is intelligence.

Intelligent architecture is inherently sustainable. From the outset we integrate low embodied materials and passive solar strategy in our buildings. This is woven into our architectural process. Our clients and occupants who inhabit our buildings can feel inspired by intelligent building performance & its minimal environmental impact.

It is paramount that sustainable principles are not simply an 'add-on'. This is achieved by conversing with our clients in the early stages and outlining the opportunities for long term environmental advantages versus the immediate cost savings. Accordingly, we believe sustainable design can be disguised, it doesn't need to be painted green in order to achieve the highest ESD credentials. Building retention and adaptive re-use also offer significant environmental potential that we are always willing to explore.

In previous projects we have included the following ESD measures:

  • Double glazing
  • Recycling systems
  • Super insulation
  • Passive solar design
  • Natural cross ventilation
  • Grey water systems
  • Photovoltaic solar panel electricity generation
  • Low embodied & locally sourced materials
  • Durable & no or low-maintenance materials
  • Urban agriculture
  • Densification
