The Brighton houses are a dual occupancy project. Designed to complement the streetscape and local provisions, the double storey, side by side dwellings are advantageous of its north-west corner site. Orange glazed bricks were chosen to articulate the formal composition and scale to the streetscape.
The internal spatial arrangement such as first floor living areas ensures an immediate connection with the large oak and vegetation to the side of the site, filtering sunlight while giving the effect of 'living in the treetops'. The hipped roof forms are kept apart by flat sections of roofing to have the dwellings appear as separate entities.
